Fabrication Coordinator Maintenance job

Description

Reporting to: The Maintenance Services Superintendent, you will be responsible for achieving compliance to safety and quality standards through training and development of the mine’s personnel.

• Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Certified applicable Trade in Boiler making/ Welding or Fabrication
• Significant experience (10 years) in Heavy Earthmoving Equipment maintenance of fixed and mobile plant maintenance.
• Experience in a coordination role.
• Must be able to interpret fabrication drawings and draft sketches.
• Have well grounded supervisory and welding experience preferably in MIG, TIG and other welding processes.
• Experience in preparation of welding procedures and technical work instructions
• Experience with welding standards and application of same to work practices
• Experience in large multi pit operations utilising large scale mining equipment.
• Able to clearly demonstrate the aptitude to drive a light vehicle and hold a current Zambian drivers licence or be able to obtain one.
• Must have excellent written and oral communication skills in English
• Proven ability to deliver results and act as a change agent.
• Demonstrated ability to lead a team safely and improve team safety awareness.

Responsabilities

• Provide resources and create a working environment that encourages personnel to actively contribute to safety, health and environmental affairs by managing risk in compliance with company objectives, policies, procedures, safe work practices and relevant regulations. • Actively participate in identification and implementation of projects that demonstrate working in an environment of continuous improvement. • Development of fabrication procedures and practices and ensure compliance to welding and fabrications to the relevant standards. • Creation of work programs and budgets for mining equipment fleets. • Management of contracts and contract employees • Ensure personal and team compliance with statutory acts and regulations and consent conditions. • Carry out administrative functions commensurate with the role. • Achievement of plant throughput and maintenance targets in the most effective manner within budget. • Execute function to original equipment manufacturer (OEM) and trade standards. • Fully responsible for the quality of work. • Training and development of Zambian artisans to high performance and quality standards and practices. • Verify conformance of work piece to operational specifications. • Review of maintenance tasks and procedures including JSA’s and SOP’s. • Plan, schedule and supervise work of support personnel. • Leadership of safety within the workplace by promoting Lumwana standards, FLRA and field task observations
