Reporting to the Senior Mining Manager, you will be responsible for all aspects of operations of the open pit mine, including mine projects and supervision of mine earthworks contractors and the associated infrastructure including interfacing with all other disciplines necessary for safe and efficient mine production.
Significant experience (10 years) in the open pit mining industry.
Degree in Engineering, Mining, Geology or similar discipline
Member of the Engineering Institute of Zambia or meets the requirements to be registered
Experience in large multi pit operations utilising large scale mining equipment ie drill rigs and blasting experience essential.
Demonstrated ability to motivate and lead teams of highly skilled and experienced personnel having diverse cultural backgrounds.
Prior experience in similar roles in Sub-Saharan Africa with demonstrated positive outcomes and advantage
Current Zambian drivers licence or be able to obtain one
Must have excellent written and oral communication skills in English
High level understanding of all relevant legislation affecting the employment and safety of persons in the mining industry in Zambia
Experience in managing costs and budgeting
Good computer skills with the ability to use integrated management systems, word processing, presentation and spreadsheet applications
Confident communicator with senior management, legal entities and external stakeholders
