Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor degree, preferably in Mechanical Engineering.

 

Experience

  • Minimum of 2years  experience in the Engineering/Maintenance department of a Fleet Management organisation or related field
  • Vehicle servicing experience will be an added advantage 

 

Personal Qualities

  • Must be a self-starter and self-motivated individual.
  • Must be able to communicate in good spoken English.
  • Must be detail-oriented and well-organised.

Responsabilities

Requisition of materials and supplies, such as tools, equipment or replacement of parts. Supervise & coordinate activities at 3rd party workshops. Analyse current procedures and activities to identify & present opportunities for improving the maintenance, repairs, requisitioning of materials or replacement of parts for company’s fleet. Ensure that technicians are aware of the right procedures for using products and equipment. Maintain good relationship with 3rd party workshop, fleet managers, drivers etc. Provide advice to team members. Evaluate the impact of work delays interruptions and changes in plans to develop appropriate course of action. Review fleet managers or driver’s service orders and inspect the quality of repairs before the release of vehicles. Review work orders to ensure that all actions have been documented according to company policies and procedures. Plan and adjust the workloads at 3rd party workshops to match company’s expectation. Coordinate with vehicle parts suppliers and arrange delivery of replacement parts to workshop or office by liaising and negotiating with them. Maintain communication with the Managing Director and Operations Manager to obtain relevant information, report unusual concerns and share new ideas that may contribute to improve workshop operations and achieve company’s goal of zero downtime at minimal maintenance cost. Ensure proper documentation is maintained and payments are received and properly recorded. Implement and adhere to all health and safety procedures including maintenance schedules. Maintaining quality, cost and efficiency of all repairs done on company vehicle. Recommend optimal transformation modes. Maintain metrics, report, process documentation, service logs. Resolve problems concerning vehicles logistics systems. Supervise the work of technicians. Recommend purchase of new improved technology. Develop and implement policies or procedures for logistics activities. Coordinating, managing and supervising drivers vehicles repairs through the fleet managers or supervisors. Perform other duties as required.
