Work with internal customers, external customers and information technology administrators to resolve technical problems for LAN/WAN services via the helpdesk.
Design, install, maintain and coordinate corporate and external customers’ LAN. Implements and coordinates network policies, procedures and standards relating to LAN/WAN networks.
Support all LAN/WAN hardware, Microsoft and Internet software provided to our internal and external customers.
Troubleshoots software and hardware problems related to Internet applications. May conduct seminars and training promoting Internet benefits and ease of use.
Install, maintain and network computers, printers and other peripheral equipment as well as configure broadband equipment for carry-in customer computers.
Install, configure, and maintain common end user application software. May train and provide assistance to end users.
Assist the information technology administrators with configuration, maintenance and monitoring of access servers, routers, Microsoft servers and Internet servers including DNS, radius, web, LDAP, e-mail, network monitoring and print servers.
Work with the information systems group in installing in-house software as requested.

Responsabilities

1 - 2 years of direct, on-the-job experience with Windows Servers, creating and managing user accounts, and Active Directory tree structure. Experience with Ethernet network design, maintenance, installation and repair; Cisco routers and associated software; and network test equipment including analyzers, wire testers and general test equipment. Working knowledge of Category 5 cabling, fiber optic cabling, cable termination, and hubs andswitches. Knowledge of installation, troubleshooting and repair, and training methods related to personal computer systems; able to communicate effectively to technical and non-technical audiences. Broad knowledge of principles of network security; network protocols and IP administration; operating systems including Ethernet, TCP/IP, UNIX and NT; and local and wide area networking technologies. Knowledge of Linux systems administration is a plus. Physically fit and willing to travel to field sites on a daily basis.
